Lesson 8 Joshua: Lessons From the Promised Land "Leaving a Legacy"
Lesson 8: Leaving a Legacy (22:41)
In this final session, we learn about the allotment of the land to the tribes of Israel. We also study Joshua's final words to the nation before his death. Patti encourages us each to create a legacy project to leave to the next generation… a legacy that is a monument to what God has done in our lives. Be creative!!
Scriptures:
Joshua 13-24, Numbers 35, Exodus 21:13, Numbers 35: 6-34, Deut 19: 2,9, Numbers 22, Joshua 24:24
Questions:
1. Why did Joshua not complete the entire conquering of the land, yet God said he was finished?
2. What was the next generation called to do? Why do you think God did it that way?
3. What were the consequences of not obeying God completely in the next generation?
4. Why do you think some tribes were successful and some were not at securing their inheritance?
5. We are saved by grace, and cannot lose our salvation. Yet, like the Israelites, we can fail to do all that God has called us to do and lose our inheritance. How might that concept change how you live your day-to- day life?
6. How does following the book of Joshua inspire you to press on to obtain the “high calling” of Christ and experience the “fullness” of Christ?
7. What new thing is God calling you to do?
8. What session of this series was the most inspiring to you? What was your greatest take away?
Send me a photo of your legacy project, and I will add it here!!
Here is a recording of my Shirley Young playing the piano! (My MOM!) She has been recording beautiful arrangements of hymns and Christian songs for her legacy project!!
